LICENSURE:

             Licensed Arizona Real Estate Broker, first licensed in 1970

             Licensed as an Arizona Real Estate School since 1983

 

EDUCATION:

             Non-qualifying JD, 1969, United States Armed Forces Institute (USAFI)

 

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS:

             Member, of the National, State and Phoenix Associations of REALTORS.

             Member and Past President of Arizona Chapter of the Real Estate Educators Association.

             Holder of the Graduate REALTOR Institute Designation (GRI).

 

PERSONAL PRODUCTION:

I am involved in approximately $6 Million in annual sales production.  This production level  has been sustained for approximately 12 years.  This production statistic is inclusive of referrals, consultation services with Brokerages and attorneys.  I do NOT market myself as an active Brokerage. 

 

INDUSTRY INVOLVEMENT:

I have served 12 years on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Association of  REALTORS beginning in 1985 through 1998, 6 years as a Member of the Board of Directors for the Tucson Association of REALTORS and Director of the Multiple Listing Service of the Tucson Association of REALTORS.  I have been a Member of the Real Estate Educators Association, Chaired the Faculty Committee of the REALTOR Institute for two terms, currently chair the Curriculum Work Group for GRI, developed six Modules for the Institute on Contract Law, Agency Relationships,  Business Planning, Technology and Personal Assistants. I am the Dean for three of the REALTOR Institute Modules.  The Arizona Escrow Officers Association has used me frequently as a resource person and speaker at various functions.

 

PUBLISHED AUTHOR:

I publish several resource manuals for the Industry including a comprehensive Office Policy and Procedures Model, Independent Contractor Agreement and related forms.  In addition, I have produced Manuals on Contract Clauses, Management disciplines and marketing tips. 

 

RELATIONSHIP TO THE DEPARTMENT OF REAL ESTATE:

I have worked in an advisory capacity to three Real Estate Commissioners on the development and enforcement policies of Laws and Rules for the Arizona Department of Real Estate.  Commissioner Holt has used me on the Commissioners Review Committee for Real Estate Law and Rules, which was charged with the duties of recommending legislation for the creation, modification or repeal of both Statute and Rule.    The Arizona  Department of Real Estate has frequently invited me to assist their Contractors in the development of testing for licensure for both the Sales and Broker Licenses.

INDUSTRY CONTRIBUTIONS:

Through my work on a wide range of Task Forces dealing with Risk Management, I have contributed to what is considered to be the Standard of Care in the use and application of standard contracts, agency disclosure, property disclosure statements and buyer representation.  I have served on the Professional Standards Committees of both the Phoenix and State Association of REALTORS, which adjudicates disputes between  REALTORS and the Public versus REALTORS as provided by the REALTOR Code of Ethics.

 

INDUSTRY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Named Educator of the Year by the National Association of REALTORS in 1996, named Committee Chairman of the Year in 1993 by the Arizona Association of REALTORS, personally trained over 130,000 professionals nationally on subjects such as Risk Management, Agency Relationships, Office Policy & Procedures, Contract Law and Business Planning.  In addition, I am a published author on many of the topics listed above in State, National and International Publications and as part of the Programs I provide.  I was a featured speaker at the National Association of REALTORS in their 1997 Annual Convention and am a featured columnist with Realty Times. I am approved to teach Risk Management, Brokerage Management and Agency Relationships in 18 States.  Since 1986, the Arizona Association of REALTORS used me as a featured Speaker at their Annual Conventions in 1986, 87, 89, 91, 93, 95 and 96.  I also served as a Panel member or Moderator of Panels during this same period.  The Arizona Annual Convention was dropped in 1997.

 

CURRENT BUSINESS ACTIVITIES:

I offer consulting services to multi-office operations, draft Office Policy and Procedures Manuals for Brokerages, teach in approximately 80 seminars per year and am frequently asked to serve as an expert witness in both complainant and broker defense litigation.
